Simple Fabric Freshener

There are many sprays out there on the supermarket shelves that claim to refresh your linen and fabric in general and banish unwanted odours.

Some do and some don’t, but if you are anything like me, you want to keep your house free of chemicals as much as possible and minimise allergic reactions such as wheezing and sneezing, why not make your own.

This simple recipe is very easy to recreate, and you can rest assured that your sofa and your house will smell beautiful without any harmful chemicals around!

You will need:

30ml boiling water

2 tsp bicarbonate soda

60ml white vinegar

A few drops of your chosen essential oil

10ml clear vodka

Add bicarbonate soda and boiling water  to a glass spray bottle and wait for it to dissolve. Then slowly add vinegar, bit by bit as the vinegar will fizz and react to bicarbonate soda. Once all the fizzing has stopped, add your essential oil, vodka and mix well.

Shake and spritz when needed, but always do a test patch on any precious fabric first.
